Flag Pole Dedication July 16, 2005
Below are photos from our Flag Pole Dedication. The Champ Camp placed a 45ft. flag pole next to the Interstate-40 next to the Parker Rd. Bridge near the 299-300 mile marker. Hooray for the South!
Raising the Flag
Gail Parker, adjutant of the Ferguson--Standing Stone Camp and Walter Anderson, treasurer of the Dillard--Judd Camp rasie the 10 ft. X 15 ft. flag on the 45 ft. Pole.
I AM THEIR FLAG!
Dr. Michael Bradley recites his poem, "I Am Their Flag" as Seth Parker, son of Camp Chaplain Stephen Parker proudly holds OUR Flag. Seth is going to make a good member!
Flying High & Free
She unfolded without much effort and waved over the crowd as if to say, "Look Away, Dixie Land."
With Volley and Cannon Fire
Bill Heard and his boys fired the cannon and bunches of honor guard, from all over the TN Division saluted her with a volley. No wrecks were reported on the Interstate during the ceremony, though we heard a Jake Brake or two.
LET US PRAY
As Dr. Michael Bradley, guest speaker, looks on, Stephen Parker, camp chaplain ends with prayer. The song "Dixie" was sang at the closing of the prayer.
